Wow, just got back from Lincoln and am feeling good. Tired- but encouraged. We got to campus at about 12:45- I had a meeting with the music professor there at 1, so we went right there. Dr. Barger was awesome. She answered all my questions and was very encouraging. From there, we went to the Luce's, which is where we stayed the night last night. We had some good fellowship with them and their kids/foster kids. The Lennanders came over for dinner (I got to hold baby Gabrielle- she is absolutely beautiful!) then we headed over to the Weibelhaus's with the Lennanders to talk for a while about the possibility of me being there. It was a great time. I feel much more confident and all my questions are answered.
I love how the Harvest church there is so intergenerational. I loved going to church this morning and seeing the young and old of different families talking to each other. Not just the older couples talking with the other older couples, it was older couples talking with the middle schoolers and even elementary kids. There wasn't any awkward age gaps that made it seem inappropriate to talk to one another. The church there is the perfect size where everyone seems to know each other and it really is like a family.
We went to church this morning, then my friends Grant and Andy (that I met on the El Paso trip), who are students at UofL, gave my mom and I a tour of campus. Then we had some more great time of fellowship during lunch.
Just to put yet another shout-out out there, GO TO A WEEK OF THE INFUSION TRIP TO LINCOLN! The church (especially Ben) is SOOOOO excited that we are going there to help them with their campus ministry. Well, I shouldn't just say the campus ministry. It's for every aspect of their church family. They are absolutely extatic of the things that will happen this summer. It was so encouraging and humbling to know that us just being there for a week (or longer) will be serving them in such a great way.
