Welcome to the Big City

Rachael and I moved to Minneapolis I think officially 3-weeks ago tomorrow. It has been quite the roller coaster ride ever since we got here.

Day 1:
(well, night 1 anyways...)
-power goes out for 9 hours
-someone tries to break into our apartment while the power is out
-no heated water

Day 2:
My car gets keyed. not cool.

From here, things seemed to get a little better... but Rachael and I still get lost very easily when driving pretty much anywhere but the MOA or the airport. (we do know how to get to the Rock and the Urban Refuge though!:)

-We are both greatly improving our cooking/housekeeping skills.
-We have both become addicted to the Office
-We both have successfully found jobs (thank God!)
-We have joined small groups/met some friends at the Rock
-I've survived/completed the first 1/4 of my TEFL certificate course online!
-While at work, someone asked me if I grew up in Minnesota- they said I had the accent. &%#$what?!#*&. they were from New York. go figure.
-So far at work, I have met people from South Africa, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Peru and Isreal. It is SOOOOO diverse!
-I have become confident in driving on the interstate during rush hour!

to be continued....
