The Going Ons

My life has been changing and has been so incredibly unpredictable- it has been hard to keep my blog up-to-date! Where to start...

It ended up that Macy's wasn't ok with me (or Rachael) taking off 4 days to go to Faithwalkers, so we both have been on the job hunt yet again. I have been fortunate enough to find another job-- a total blessing from God. My last day at Macy's was last Friday, and I don't start my other job til Friday, so it gave me a little breather inbetween the two.

I came home this morning at around 1 a.m. and went to bed, just to be awoken by my mom at around 9 a.m. telling me that when I get up and showered to meet them at the hospital, that my brother Marc had gone in for his check-up on his knee, where he had surgery 2 Fridays ago and they had found a bad infection and were doing an emergency surgery at around 12:30 today. I got up right away and jumped in the shower, then headed to the hospital. Apparently the infection was pretty bad, so they pretty much irrigated the wound to try and rid the infection, and they're going to do the same thing again on Wednesday. He's going to be in the hospital til Friday or Saturday, so I spent all today with him in the hospital. Not how I was planning on spending my time home, but hey, what better time to really bond with family than in the hospital, huh? I'm headed back to Bloomington on Wednesday night (possibly earlier or later since it's supposed to snow 8 inches on Wednesday?!)... so I'll probably stay here with Marc for the next few days. I'm actually in the hospital room right now- it's got an extra bed (and there's wireless!) and I'm sleeping here tonight with him. He's totally zonked out now, but somehow I'm still wide-awake, so I thought I should catch up on some blogging. Please keep Marc in your prayers-- that the surgery Wednesday will go well also and that the infection will be cleared up effectively-- he has to have an IV on him for the next 6 weeks, which I'm sure will be a nuisance, but they just want to make sure everything gets cleared up.

Well, I'll update more later... I need to make a few phone calls before it gets too late...
