I got into a car accident on Saturday. I was driving home from work, which was a good 20 minute drive on Saturday. Minneapolis roads were pretty terrible on Saturday, with snowing almost constantly all day and some freezing rain in the early afternoon. I was on my way home at around 7 p.m. going South on 100. I was in the far left lane the whole time because it was the clearest of all the lanes. I was needing to get into the far right lane soon to get off onto the 494 East exit. I wasn't going any more than 40 mph, as the roads were bad. As I was changing lanes, I hit an icy patch and lost control of my car. My car starting turning and a second later, it ran into a 5-foot high cement guard-railing. My car hit the guard-railing with enough force to flip by car around 180 degrees so that I was stuck in a snowbank facing on-coming traffic. I stood there for a while just soaking in what had happened, then I got outside my car to assess the damage.
I walked around my car and didn't see any damage! Then a car stopped and a guy got out of the car to make sure I was ok-- I said I was fine (my neck and back were pretty sore from whiplash), I told him I was trying to find the damage on my car. He walked around and couldn't find any damage-- we were both a little confused, but he shoveled out my tires and helped push my car out. He was so kind to me.
Right when I got home, I had Rachael come out and look at my car, to make sure I wasn't missing some huge dent in the car. She didn't find anything-- the crazy thing was that the cement in the guard-railing had a scratch on it from where my car hit it-- but there wasn't a single scratch on my car! It absolutely blew my mind! God is so good!
