Wow is the only word I can think of to describe the past few weeks of my life. Here are just a few of the crazy things I will never forget:
-On the way to meet some friends for pizza, I took a wrong exit, ended up in the shady part of town (near Chicago and Lake), going down a residencial street trying to get back on the interstate, a cop puts his lights and siren on behind me. I freak out and don't know what to do (narrow street, cars parked on both sides- jam packed). The cop passes me, goes half a block ahead of me and pulls over beside a parked car. Cop gets out going towards the car and a guy gets out of the car with a gun. Cop pulls out his gun. I'm sitting there freaking out not knowing what to do. I end up slowly passing on the otherside of the cop.... praying I won't get shot. So to summarize, I almost get shot. A.K.A. I witness my first big-city drug bust or whatever it was.
-I have survived my first 3 days of working 14-hour days between 2 jobs. Yes, I am yawning right now. (today was one of them....!)
-Rachael and I made friends!!!! Yah we've met people, but we now have friends! From the Rock! Who we hang out with! That is a huge answer to prayer. It's always nice to have friends!
-I get some Christmas shopping done early! (working at Macys and Eddie Bauer gets me some great discounts!!!! Lets just say I got some originally $350 diamond bracelets for $24. (like 95% off!) Yep, I was able to pull a fewww strings and bargain shop!
-I have gotten to share my testimony with 3 gals from work- one is from Tanzania, one from Korea and the other from Trinidad and Tabago. So diverse! They're amazing!
Anywho..... yah. God is awesome. And I'm enjoying the craziness and unpredictable nature of my life right now. Who knows, maybe tomorrow I'll find a lottery ticket on the ground that is a winner for a million dollars, magically transport to Iceland and have dinner with Andre the Giant. Hey, ya never know!
